NEW YORK CITY TO HOST TIMES SQUARE PEP RALLY FOR THE
NEW YORK YANKEES
To cheer on the New York Yankees as they prepare for Game 1 of the 2009 World Series, New York City will host a Pep Rally in Times Square in honor of the Yankees’ American League Championship on Wednesday, October 28 at 12:30 PM. The rally in Times Square will be weather permitting.
Mayor Mike Bloomberg and Michael Kay, YES Network’s Yankees play by play man, and the host of 1050 ESPN’s The Michael Kay Show will join thousands of Yankees fans to show New York’s support for the Yankees as they prepare for their first game of the World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. Fans are encouraged to wear their Yankees gear to work and school on Wednesday to show their support for their favorite New York team.
MEDIA INFORMATION
The Yankees Pep Rally will be held on Broadway between 44th Street and 45th Street at 12:30 PM. A press riser and mult-boxes will be made available. Media must display NYPD working press credential, Philadelphia press pass or press identification cards to gain access to the riser, which will be located approximately 50 feet from the stage.

ENTRY LOCATION
To gain access to the event, all attendees must enter at 42nd Street and Broadway.
TRANSPORTATION
There will be very limited street parking in the Times Square area. Everyone is encouraged to use the subway and other forms of public transportation.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
To ensure public safety and security, the following items will not be permitted: coolers, large backpacks, large bags, weapons, glass containers, alcohol and chairs. All attendees are subject to search and confiscated items will not be returned. |
