Orso at Times Square
When Orso opened in the Spring of 1983 it introduced a rustic approach to Italian dining that was an instant hit with New York restaurant critics and locals alike. The restaurant's character has evolved over the ensuing decades, developing into a regular dining destination for producers, theatrical luminaries and journalists of every stripe. Victor Flores is Orso's current Executive Chef and worked under original chef and owner, Julie Lumia beginning in the late 1980's. Today Mr. Flores supervises Orso's kitchen with a meticulous eye, preparing the restaurants staple dishes with vigor while branching out to incorporate locally sourced ingredients and housemade pastas and sausages into the restaurants storied menu.
