Big Shot ~ Billy Joel Tribute at Times Square
Type: Music & Concerts
Welcome In the New Year With New York's World-Class Billy Joel Tribute Experience!
Big Shot returns to B.B. King and is fronted by the amazing vocals of singer-songwriter and piano man Michael DelGuidice. DelGuidice is a well-known and respected Long Island musician and multi-instrumentalist. With vocals that stand out above all others, he recently released a 10-song album of his own material, titled Miller Place (2010). His tribute band Big Shot is truly a national-level act, featuring all world-class musicians who have not only toured with Billy Joel but have also worked with names like Michael Bolton, Hall & Oates, Huey Lewis, Diana Ross, Billy Joel's Broadway Musical, Richie Blackmore, Tower of Power, Nine Days, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Big Shot's performance is a 90-minute to two-hour show not to be believed, packed with hit after chart-topping hit in a high energy, interactive stage performance. The show almost exclusively covers Billy Joel's music, but the band will also surprise you with songs by Elton John, The Beatles, Journey, Paul McCartney, Marc Cohn, and many others.
Tonight's performance features special guest original Billy Joel band member saxophonist Richie Cannata. Cannata was a member of the Billy Joel Band from 1972-1982 and reunited with Joel on his 2006 tour, including Joel's record-setting 12-show run at Madison Square Garden. Cannata performed on Joel's albums Songs in the Attic (1981), 52nd Street (1978), The Stranger (1977), Glass Houses (1980), Turnstiles (1976), River of Dreams (1993), 2000 Years: The Millennium Concert (2000), and Joel's recent box set.
Come hear the band about which Billy Joel himself declared: "They had a hard time convincing me it wasn't me. It's uncanny."
