Since the late '60s, the names Allman and Neville have been synonymous with great music. This music is untamed and hard to categorize - a blending of rock, blues, and soul into a fusion that remains on its own and has been a staple of the blues and jam band music scenes for many years. When Devon Allman told his father Gregg that he was putting a band together that involved Mike Zito and Cyril Neville, his father immediately approved. Devon already knew Zito from growing up playing shows in and around St. Louis. When the two met Neville Brother and Meters vocalist and percussionist Cyril Neville in New Orleans, the Royal Southern Brotherhood was formed.

Bringing lead guitars and vocals to the Royal Southern Brotherhood is Devon Allman. Born in Texas with a famous last name, but never leaning on it, he has toured the world for the last decade with his own group, Devon Allman's Honeytribe. His guitar style is reminiscent of his uncle Duane's, mixed with the soulfulness of Carlos Santana and a larger-than-life rock style all his own. Grammy Award-winning New Orleans Neville Brother and Meters vocalist Cyril Neville has been called a philosopher, poet, and one of the last great Southern soul singers. Most recently he has fronted New Orleans Funk band Galactic, the Voice of the Wetlands All-Stars, The Neville Brothers, and his own group Tribe 13. 2009 Blues Music Award winner Mike Zito is one of those rare artists that can sing like nobody's business, plays one hell of a mean Gulf Coast-style guitar, and possesses the stage presence to draw in any audience.
