B’z ANNOUNCE NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
BEST-SELLING BAND IN JAPAN HISTORY RELEASE FIRST US SINGLE
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 17, 2012) – Japanese rock duo, B’z have announced their US Tour B’z LIVE-GYM 2012 -Into-Free-, kicking off September 17th at the Warfield in San Francisco. This 7 city month long North American tour builds to a spectacular finish at the Gibson Theater in Los Angeles.
B’z are world acclaimed guitarist, Tak Matsumoto and lyricist /vocalist, Koshi Inaba. The band has played many sold-out dates in the US over the years, and last summer shared the stage with Linkin Park on the highly successful, Secret Show For Japan. Fans of the bands raised over $350,000 for victims of the March 2011 Japan tsunami and earthquake, and were treated to a private club show at the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles.
B’z have toured the US in 2002, 2004 and 2011. Their 2011 North American west coast tour sold several months before the shows in record time. Selling the tour in just under four days, proved US fans of B’z were demanding more. Now for the first time, the added East Coast dates will provide a rare opportunity to see the band in an intimate setting.
B’z have sold over 80 million albums worldwide, recorded 24 consecutive #1 albums, and had 46 consecutive #1 singles in Japan – making them the biggest selling band in Japan’s history. Now for the first time, B’z have released a single in the US, “Into Free-Dangan” – available exclusively on iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/id511822436
Worldwide gaming company CAPCOM, have announced they will be featuring the single in their new video game, Dragon’s Dogma. An action game for Playstation3 / Xbox 360, Dragon’s Dogma was produced by Hiroyuki Kobayashi, known for his previous success with the Devil May Cry series and Sengoku Basara.
Renown guitarist, Tak Matsumoto joined legendary musicians Jimmy Page, Joe Perry, Ace Frehley and Slash, to become the fifth guitarist in the world to have his own Gibson signature model, the ’Tak Matsumoto Les Paul.’ In 2010, Tak joined forces with jazz guitarist, Larry Carlton and won a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album, Take Your Pick at the 53rd Grammy Awards in 2011. Along with a very successful solo career, singer Koshi Inaba, was featured as a guest vocalist on Slash’s solo album in 2010.
