Where do I go? How do I get there? What should I bring? Can I sit by my friend? Where can I go to the bathroom?
It’s not easy loading thousands of yogis into Times Square, which is essentially an intersection of 2 roads. That’s what makes this event unique, but also challenging. We’ve done this event for 10 years now, and expect to have the most ever attendees this year. We’ll be covering multiple blocks with yogis from around the globe. So to make the experience run smoothly for everyone, we ask that you please do your best to follow the instructions we’ve provided. The experience will surely be one you will remember for a very long time. Namaste!
Do I need to pre-register for the event or can I just show up?
Pre-registration has closed but walk-ups are welcome to come to the event. If space permits, we will welcome any walk-ups into each class beginning 30 minutes prior to any class time to allow priority for pre-registered participants.
Can I bring a guest under my registration?
No, each person much pre-register themselves or wait in the walk-up line.
Can I take more than one class?
You can only pre-register for ONE class. If you pre-register for more than one class you risk your registration being completely deleted – so please don’t. However, you can wait in the walk-up line for additional classes and we will do our best to fit you in. We want as many people to experience this event as possible.
What does the class/event costs?
The classes are FREE!
How do I get there?
By subway take the A, C, E, N, Q, R, S, 1, 2, 3 OR 7 to Times Square, B, D, F, Q to Rockefeller Center, or the N, R or Q to 47th Street.

Where do I check-in?
You will receive another email prior to the event with this information.
When should I arrive?
We suggest you arrive at your designated check-in point an hour before your class. This gives you time to get your freebies*, find your spot and relax before your class. Walk-up attendees will be allowed to check-in onsite once we hit the 30-minute mark prior to each class. (*While supplies last)
When do you start letting people in for the class?
Entrance will begin at least 60 minutes before the class, and maybe more.
Do I need to bring a yoga mat?
Athleta will provide a free yoga mat to the first 1,200 attendees to enter each class. We suggest you bring your own if you are not arriving early.
Do I need to bring my own water?
smartwater® will be providing water while supplies last. You may bring additional water of your own.
Are there places to change on site?
No, you should arrive dressed for class.
Are there lockers?
No, there are no lockers on site. Due to space limitations, we request that you come with only one purse/bag that can be placed next to your mat during the class.
Are there public restrooms?
While there are no restrooms in the footprint of the event, there are public restrooms available in the Times Square Museum and Visitor Center located on 7th Avenue between 46th and 47th Streets.
Will the event be broadcast anywhere?
Why, yes! Each yoga class and between class activities will be webcast live via LiveStream. You can tell your family and friends to watch you downward dog in the middle of Times Square at: www.TimesSquareNYC.org. The webcast will also repeat in the days after the event.

What happens if it rains?
This event is RAIN OR SHINE! Some of our most memorable classes have been in the rain. Although, we’re all hoping for sunshine.
Is there access for the disabled?
Yes. Proceed to the check-in point assigned to you.
Can I bring my pet?
Sorry, no furry friends, reptiles or other non-human companions are allowed into the event.
Exception is granted for service dogs.
Is there smoking at the event?
No, this event is held on the Broadway Plazas and Duffy Square which are both smoke free year-round.

How can I ensure that my friend and I are can sit together?
Please pre-register at the same time and then arrive TOGETHER at least 30 minutes ahead of time at your designated check-in point. Unfortunately, you will not be able to “save” a spot for a guest that is arriving later.

Solstice in Times Square: Athleta Mind Over Madness Yoga is produced by the Times Square Alliance, a not for profit organization that works to improve and promote Times Square so that it retains the creativity, energy and edge that have made it an international icon for over 100 years. As this is a free event, we rely on support from our fantastic partners: Athleta, Yoga Journal, smartwater®, vitaminwater®, Mediterranean Snacks, Tribe All Natural Hummus, Stonyfield Organic Yogurt, IN New York & Where Magazines and Fresh 102.7FM.
Are children allowed to participate in this event?
Yes, but you must sign a release on their behalf before they can enter the site (done via a unique pre-registration session online or in our walk-up line on the day of the event). They must be at least 10 years old to enter the event site and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
