Where do I go? How do I get there? What should I bring? Can I sit by my friend? Where can I go to the bathroom?
It’s not easy loading thousands of yogis into Times Square, which is essentially an intersection of 2 roads. That’s what makes this event unique, but also challenging. These answers are provided to you below as well as in your confirmation email that you will recieve after registration.

We’ve done this event for 11 years now, and expect to have our largest attendance this year. We’ll be covering multiple blocks with yogis from around the globe. So to make the experience run smoothly for everyone, we ask that you please do your best to follow the instructions we’ve provided. The experience will surely be one you will remember for a very long time. Namaste!

Do I need to register for the event or can I just show up?
Yes, you must register for the event here.

Is my registration transferrable?
No.

Can I bring a guest under my registration?
No, each person much register themselves.

What time are the classes?
5:30am - 6:30am
7:30am - 8:30am
9:30am - 10:30am
11:30am - 1:00pm
2:00pm - 3:00pm
4:00pm - 5:00pm
6:00pm - 7:00pm
8:00pm - 9:15pm

Can I take more than one class?
You can only register for ONE class. If you register for more than one class you risk your ENTIRE registration being deleted – so please don’t.

What does the class/event costs?
All classes are FREE!

How do I get there?
By subway take the A, C, E, N, Q, R, S, 1, 2, 3 OR 7 to Times Square, B, D, F, Q to Rockefeller Center, or the N, R or Q to 42nd Street.

Where do I check-in?
Please arrive at 43rd St. & 6th Avenue at least 30 minutes prior to your class time. You must bring a printed copy of your ticket to enter.

When should I arrive?
We suggest you arrive to check-in point an hour before your class. This gives you time to get your freebies, find your spot and relax before your class.

When do you start letting people in for the class?
Entrance will begin aproximately 45 minutes before the class.

Do I need to bring a yoga mat?
Athleta will provide a free yoga mat to registered attendees.

Do I need to bring my own water?
Smartwater® will be providing water while supplies last. You may bring additional water of your own.

Are there places to change on site?
No, you should arrive dressed for class.

Are there lockers?
No, there are no lockers on site. Due to space limitations, we request that you come with only one purse/bag that can be placed next to your mat during the class.

Are there public restrooms?
While there are no restrooms in the footprint of the event, there are public restrooms available in the Times Square Museum and Visitor Center located on 7th Avenue between 46th and 47th Streets.

Will the event be broadcast anywhere?
The Times Square Alliance and Athleta will stream the event live (powered by Livestream) on their websites at www.TimesSquareNYC.org and on www.Athleta.com as well as on www.YogaJournal.com and www.MyYogaOnline.com so that yogis across the country and the world can join the class. For those in Times Square, the event will also be broadcast on the Toshiba Vision Screens atop One Times Square. Stay tuned for more details.

Are there activities other than the yoga classes?
Be sure to check out our sponsor village after your class.

Where and what is the yoga village?
The sponsor village will be located on Broadway between 44th and 45th streets. Sponsors will have various tents set-up with information, free samples and coupons.

What happens if it rains?
This event is RAIN OR SHINE! Some of our most memorable classes have been in the rain. Although, we’re all hoping for sunshine.

Is there access for the disabled?
Yes. Proceed to the check-in point.

Can I bring my pet?
Sorry, no furry friends, reptiles or other non-human companions are allowed into the event.
Exception is granted for service dogs.

Is there smoking at the event?
No, this event is held on the Broadway Plazas which is a smoke free year-round.

How can I ensure that my friend and I are can sit together?
Please register at the same time and then arrive TOGETHER at least 30 minutes ahead of time at your designated check-in point. Unfortunately, you will not be able to “save” a spot for a guest that is arriving later.

Solstice in Times Square: Athleta Mind Over Madness Yoga is produced by the Times Square Alliance, a not for profit organization that works to improve and promote Times Square so that it retains the creativity, energy and edge that have made it an international icon for over 100 years. As this is a free event, we rely on support from our fantastic partners: Athleta, Yoga Journal, smartwater®,  Luna, Solstice Sunglasses, and IN New York & Where Magazines.

Are children allowed to participate in this event?
Yes, but childern 10-18 must have a signed a release on their behalf before they can enter the site. They must be at least 10 years old to enter the event site and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
