Amy Pearce-Hayden’s, (E-RYT 500) formal study of yoga began in 1995 with Iyengar Master, Gabriel Halpern, although she was self-taught since the age of 11. While working toward her BFA at DePaul University’s Conservatory Professional Theatre School, (Chicago), Yoga was included in their curriculum. While attending NYC’s A.M.D.A.’s (American Musical and Dramatic Academy) where she studied theatre, film, and television, again Yoga found it’s way into her studies. In mid 2003, Amy founded TheYogaScape in Carmel, NY where she continues to direct both 200 & 500 hour Yoga Alliance recognized teacher training programs. Her studio in upstate NY celebrates its 11th Anniversary in July 2014. In both 2010 and 2011, TheYogaScape was named “Best Yoga Studio” by Hudson Valley Magazine and its readers. Amy was named “Female Entrepreneur” of the year by “The Professional Women of Putnam Association” in 2011. Pearce-Hayden created, produced, and co-directed the on-line streaming video series “YouYoga” where a variety of all-level practices are available streaming online. Amy has been featured regularly by “Yoga International” Magazine demonstrating in “Asana Solutions” and has appeared on the cover, which she is truly grateful for.
