Times Square Alliance

The Times Square Alliance, a business improvement district whose chairman is Michael Stengel, works to improve and promote Times Square so that it retains the energy, edge, and distinctiveness that have made it an icon for entertainment, culture, and urban life for over a century. The Alliance provides security and sanitation services, promotes local businesses, co-produces numerous major events in Times Square, including New Year’s Eve, manages the city’s busiest Information Center, and advocates on behalf of its constituents with respect to a host of public policy, planning, and quality-of-life issues.

Theater Development Fund

Theatre Development Fund has played a unique role in strengthening New York City’s performing arts. Through its ticketing programs serving theatres from Broadway to off-Off Broadway, its Theatre Access Project for theatregoers with physical disabilities, its intensive arts education programs, and its Costume Collection, TDF has touched the lives of millions of New Yorkers and tourists who might not otherwise be able to enjoy the unique experience of live performance, filling over 72 million seats since 1968. TDF is proud to be part of this project and is tremendously grateful to its Board of Trustees, led by David D. Holbrook, who contributed close to half of our funding commitment of a minimum of one million dollars. It would also like to pay special tribute to Pia Lindström, TDF Trustee, and John Breglio, former TDF Board Chair, who led the fundraising efforts. Additionally, a special thanks to D. Kenneth Patton, TDF Trustee and a jury member for the competition. Finally, TDF thanks its corporate, foundation, and individual donors who have supported to the project. A complete listing of TDF’s Board and donors can be found at www.tdf.org.
