Times Square Alliance Celebrates Summer With More Than 40 Restaurants
At Annual Outdoor Food and Music Festival
Tens of thousands of people are expected to enjoy dishes from more than 40 of the neighborhood’s top restaurants and music from the city’s best street performers at Taste of Times Square on Monday, June 2 from 5-9 p.m. on 46th St. bet Broadway and 9th Ave in Times Square. Media check-in will be at The Times Square Alliance tent at 9th Avenue and 46th Street across from Meson Sevilla and Da Rosina.
Restaurants will be offering a taste of their signature dishes, such as paella from Spain, empanadas from Cuba, and jambalaya from New Orleans, to name a few. This year, participating restaurants include Bareburger, Carmine’s, E&E Grill House, Hard Rock Cafe, The House of Brews, John’s Pizzeria NYC, Junior’s Times Square, Toloache, La Pulperia, Le Rivage, Meson Sevilla, Midtown Diner, O’Lunney’s, and Virgil’s.
Highlighted street musicians include: the Drum Cafe -- an interactive drumming circle on Duffy Square, Mariachi Real De Mexico, Ebony Hillbillies, George Gee SWING Orchestra with free swing lessons from Dance Manhattan Studios, and more.
Taste of Times Square, now in its 21st year, is organized by the Times Square Alliance. The food and music festival featuring international flavors and sounds has no admission fee. Each “taste” ticket is $1 with most dishes ranging from $1-$6. Patrons can purchase tickets on the day of the event and in advance both online at www.TimesSquareNYC.org/Taste and at the Times Square Visitor Center and Museum on 7th Ave. between 46th and 47th Streets.
