World Class Yogis to Host Embeddable Webcast of Dawn-till-Dusk Yoga Event to Mark
The Longest Day of the Year

New York, NY (June 16, 2014) – The Times Square Alliance today announced that yoga enthusiasts around the world will get to experience the 12th annual Solstice in Times Square via a 16-hour, live, free webcast of the event, during which thousands of Yogis will come together for a collective ohm in one of the world’s busiest and most frenetic places: Times Square. The Times Square Alliance and title sponsor Athleta, the premium fitness and lifestyle apparel brand for women, will offer up free “Mind Over Madness” yoga classes and a yoga village from 5:30 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. on the longest day of the year – allowing yogis from around the globe to participate virtually in the fully booked event.
The webcast, which is produced in partnership with Livestream, will be hosted by yogis Amy Pearce-Hayden, Tracye Warfield and Tim Tompkins, President of the Times Square Alliance.
The webcast will capture eight, free outdoor yoga classes – including the first-ever sunrise class, beginning at 5:25 a.m. The classes include:
• 5:30 a.m. - 6:30 a.m.: Sunrise Vinyasa; Instructed by Tim Tompkins
• 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.: Salutations to Summer; Instructed by Heather Lilleston
• 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.: Power Yoga; Instructed by Bethany Lyons
• 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.: Bikram; Instructed by Donna Rubin and Friends
• 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.: Slow Flow Vinyasa; Instructed by Paula Tursi
• 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Sun Sequence; Instructed by Barbara Verrochi, Kristin Leigh and Annie Piper
• 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.: Breath Informed Vinyasa; Instructed by Douglass Stewart
• 8:00 p.m. - 9:15 p.m.: Sunset Flow; Instructed by Ali Cramer
Thanks to a custom-designed embeddable video, the event organizers and Livestream are providing viewers with a full feed experience that includes live video, chat, photos, real-time DVR and video highlight capabilities. This full feed experience is available for digital media outlets, bloggers, webmasters and Facebook users to embed as a source of fun and entertaining content on their own sites customized for their communities.

This year, yogis who plan to follow the free yoga classes from home can still swing by Times Square on June 22nd to take part in the celebration, as the event continues for a second day with the MINDBODY Sol Conference. The first-ever, day-long wellness conference is designed to rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit in a more tranquil setting. An assortment of feel-good workshops will be offered, from yoga and meditation to Ayurveda and energy healing. Classes will be taught by a variety of New York-based masters, including renowned professional yoga instructors Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee, and meditation experts Alan Finger and Ethan Nichtern. The conference is sponsored by MINDBODY Connect, the largest consumer booking app for the wellness and beauty industries, and will take place Sunday, June 22nd at the Marriott Marquis Hotel at 1535 Broadway from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
