Join artist Neil Goldberg and artists who work with Elastic City (Juan Betancurth, Todd Shalom & Niegel Smith) for "Evening Stars" on Tuesday, June 25, beginning at 11:40 p.m. in Times Square for a performance that responds to Goldberg's video Surfacing, which is being shown nightly on the digital screens in Times Square throughout the month of June from 11:57pm – midnight as part of the Midnight Moment. Featuring: Jocelyn Bioh, Vivian Chiu, Nicolette Dixon, Paige Fredlund, Maija Garcia, Brittany Green, Kelly Haran, Kalon Hayward, Jeff Hiller, Katie Iacona, Tiffany Jewel, Stuart Luth, Paloma McGregor, Ayesha Ngaujah, Nikkole Salter, Nicole Ventura, Ben Weber, Brandon Zelman and Jason Zeren. Midnight Moment is a presentation by the Times Square Advertising Coalition (TSAC) and Times Square Arts. In the video, Goldberg stitches together images of passengers struggling to orient themselves as they emerge from the New York City subway into the commotion of the street. Click here for more information about Surfacing.
Midnight Moment is the largest coordinated effort in history by the sign operators in Times Square to display synchronized, cutting-edge creative content on electronic billboards and newspaper kiosks throughout Times Square every night. The program premiered in May 2012 and is organized and supported by the Times Square Advertising Coalition in partnership with Times Square Arts, the public art program for the Times Square Alliance, with additional partners of participating sign holders and artists. Each night, Times Square becomes a digital art gallery through dazzling visuals on select billboards and newsstands. Every show begins at 11:57pm with a "countdown" that signals the start of the 3 minute nightly presentation. Content changes monthly; selected works are announced. For more information on past projects, please visit here.

About Elastic City
Elastic City intends to make its audience active participants in an ongoing poetic exchange with the places we live in and visit. Artists are commissioned by Elastic City to create their own walks. These walks are participatory and may rely on sensory-based techniques, the creation of new folk rituals and/or other artist-derived exercises to explore one’s self, the group and a given space. Todd Shalom, founder of Elastic City, works with each artist to help adapt their talent to the walk-based form. 2013 brings their fourth season of presenting participatory walks by artists throughout and outside of New York. With this season, over 60 artists will have led walks in New York, Detroit, San Francisco, Berlin, Buenos Aires, London, Montreal, Paris, Reykjavik, São Paulo, and Tokyo. Elastic City has partnered with numerous organizations to co-present its walks including: The Abrons Art Center, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Flea, California College of the Arts, Consulate General of Spain in New York, Friends of the High Line, Le Petit Versailles, Museum of the City of New York, New Museum, NY Art Book Fair, Open House NY, Pratt Institute, Printed Matter, Performance Space 122, Residency Unlimited, the River To River Festival, San Francisco Arts Commission, SculptureCenter, Staten Island Museum, Wave Hill, and Urban Design Week.
