Any web browser (for example Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer).
Connecting to the network
On your device, find the Visitor Center Free Wifi network and tell your device to connect to it. Once connected, launch your web browser.
Once you have reached the portal page, all Internet services including email, instant messaging and web browsing will be available for you to use. The Times Square portal page offers information on local news, events, restaurants, weather and more.
Wi-fi is available in our Times Square Museum and Visitor Center located at 714 7th Avenue (between 46th and 47th streets, next to the McDonald's).
A small portion of wireless network users may need to adjust software settings to access the Times Square Wireless Network. If you have difficulty connecting, try the following steps:
- Our network does not require a password: if you are being prompted for a password, either your device is connected to a different network (please verify the network name) or the issue is unrelated to our network.
- If your device automatically has connected to a different network, search for the SSID Visitor Center Free Wifi in your device's list of detected networks - manually tell your device to connect to this network.
- Make sure that your web browser is not set to use a proxy server. For Internet Explorer, this setting can be found in the Windows Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings.
- Configure your TCP/IP settings to obtain an internet address automatically using DHCP.
