Having appeared on Broadway in the original casts of On Your Feet! and the most recent revivals of West Side Story and Sunday in the Park…, singer-songwriter Jennifer Sanchez’s music draws from folk, pop, and jazz. Her tunes are lyric driven and “it’s the witty and unexpected humor in Sanchez’s lyrics that separate her from her peers. They can be blunt and/or self-effacing, but always honest.” (Cabaret Scenes) She was a featured writer in the Johnny Mercer Songwriting Project and is currently working on her debut album “Open Heart.” She is also currently featured in the Broadway cast of Pretty Woman.
Jaime Cepero swiftly became a fan favorite for his portrayal of Ellis Boyd, the prickly assistant with an All-About-Eve-streak, on NBC’s musical drama “SMASH” from Executive Producer Steven Spielberg. Other film and television credits include “Mess,” I Am Michael starring James Franco, Dating My Mother, Daddy, “Good Morning America,” and the upcoming Jess from Comedy Central's Dan Hurwitz. He recently finished an Off-Broadway run as Ben in the new musical Night of the Living Dead, and can be heard on the cast recording on all music platforms. He also recently played Matt in the musical workshop production of John Waters’ cult classic movie Pecker Off-Broadway at the Snapple Center. As composer, his musical Francois & the Rebels (a punk rock telling of the 1791 Haitian Revolution) was a part of MTFmusicals 4X15 workshop series and will be receiving a staged lab this August. He actively strives to use his voice for the promotion of human rights and political activism, and received critical acclaim for his performance as Claude in the 50th Anniversary staging of HAIR at Tony Award-winning Dallas Theater Center.
The Broadway Buskers concert series is curated and hosted by Ben Cameron.
