Molly and the Memphis Thunder
Molly and the Memphis Thunder is a musical collaboration that began in 2012 between Broadway actress Molly Hager and Grammy-nominated Engineer and Producer Ian Kagey. Blending many influences including folk, Americana, country, and pop, their infectious songs blend tight harmonies with heartbreaking storytelling of love and loss.
Molly made her Broadway debut in the original cast of Waitress, where she is currently featured as “Mother.” She also appeared in the original Off-Broadway cast of the cult hit Heathers: The Musical, and was most recently seen in the world premiere of A Walk on the Moon. Her TV and film credits include It’s Kind of a Funny Story and Happyish.
Carner & Gregor
Sam Carner and Derek Gregor’s musical Unlock’d ran Off-Broadway in a Prospect production at the Duke Theatre and recently played Houston’s Queensbury Theatre. Their show Island Song has dozens of productions slated for 2018-19 around the world, having played the Adirondack Theatre Festival, London’s Stratford Circus, Oakland University, Circle in the Square Theatre School, and many more. The studio cast album starring Jeremy Jordan, Kimiko Glenn and more is available at www.IslandSongMusical.com. Their musical Toast had workshops at the Bloomington Playwrights Project, NC State, and Johnny Mercer Colony. Among Playbill.com’s “Contemporary Songwriters You Should Know,” they won the Richard Rodgers Award, John Wallowitch Award, and $100,000 Kleban Prize, and their songs have received 11 MAC nominations.
