COUNTDOWN TO NYE
Every last Tuesday of the month, Live @ Michiko features original artists pursuing their own musical voice in and around NYC. For their very first Tuesday showcase ever, they present J. HOARD and SETH EVANS.
NYC based artist J. Hoard, is a new stitch to the essential fabric of the city — its music scene. His original compositions easily shift in genre, all the way from the core of the Black church and allure of The Great White Way, to communicate his unlimited imagination in songwriting. His credits include Chance the Rapper, Brasstracks, and hip-hop royalty Jean Grae & Quelle Chris and a host of jazz/experimental artists such as Sonnymoon, Javier Santiago, and Meshell Ndgeocello.
Seth grew up in Chanhassen, MN one mile from Prince's Paisley Park compound. In Denver, he started the cosmic and delightfully strange electro-sensual rock & roll band Rossonian and now, in Brooklyn, he continues the pursuit of being oneself. Singing like a less melismatic Jeff Buckley and writing songs with the smooth, back-alley composure of Steely Dan, any major dude will tell you he is interesting enough for one listen.
