In the 1940s, ethnomusicologist Alan Lomax brought The Midnight Special series to The Town Hall. Lomax took advantage of the discounted after-hours rental rates at the hall and held notable events like Blues at Midnight, Ballads at Midnight, and perhaps the most famous, Calypso at Midnight. Tune in on July 14th at 7pm for a special digital event with Dr. John Szwed, author of Alan Lomax: The Man Who Recorded the World (2010).

This is a free virtual event and will appear on Youtube.
