Three violists and a cellist perform on stage

Two of New York's premiere music institutions partner following a twenty year hiatus on Friday, October 8. That evening, The Walter W. Naumburg Foundation and Town Hall, both organizations that represent music's past as well as its future, celebrate fifty years of chamber music with a gala concert. Performers, all Naumburg winners, will include the American, Brentano, Emerson, Pacifica and Telegraph String Quartets; Eighth Blackbird; soprano Dawn Upshaw; clarinetist Charles Neidich and pianist Anton Nel. The renowned composer John Corigliano and Naumburg President Nicholas Mann will be giving remarks. Early artists who received their start as a Naumburg winner in Town Hall include violinists Robert Mann and Joseph Silverstein and pianists William Kapell, Constance Keene and Jorge Bolet.
