COUNTDOWN TO NYE
Give your Thursday night a new rhythm. Jazz at Lincoln Center joins us this summer to bring New York City’s jazz scene to Broadway with free live concerts, creating the feeling of an intimate club amidst the lights and sounds of Times Square.
“New Jazz Underground” is a trio featuring Abdias Armenteros (saxophone, 22), Sebastian Rios (bass, 25), and TJ Reddick (drums, 23), who met while they were students at the prestigious Juilliard School. They started playing as a group regularly in the summer of 2020; unable to play in live music venues during the pandemic lockdown, they would meet to play on a weekly basis in the parks and streets of NYC. In 2021, this led to their online New Jazz Underground Live series on Youtube, and to live performances once venues reopened.
