The interior of the Church of St Mary the Virgin, with wooden pews and a high arched stone ceiling

The Church of St Mary the Virgin is holding a dual celebration. Shrouded by scaffolding for more than a decade, the renovation and restoration of its façade is scheduled to be complete by September’s end. In addition, the congregation is launching a year-long celebration of the 150th Anniversary of its founding, which was deferred by the pandemic.

The celebration begins with a special mass celebrated starting at 11am Sunday, October 9 at the Church. At the conclusion of the service, a special procession in which the clergy and congregation will traverse the block, blessing the residents and establishments around the Church. A festive reception follows the conclusion of the service.
