Saint Luke’s Church was founded in 1850. Its present building was dedicated in 1923, and renovated in 1990. At that time the chancel was enlarged; the altar was made free-standing, and a tracker action organ was installed.

Luke was a healer and so they too seek to reach out with healing into the community of Times Square.

Their Soup Kitchen has been in existence since 1977 and serves over 360 meals a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

They welcome volunteers from throughout the community who are eager to give their time in bettering the lives of others.

In addition they house the offices of Lutheran Social Services of New York, providing both immigration assistance and foster care.
