El Mundo es Niña Live Performance

On September 23, LIZN'BOW premiere a new live performance as the artists' bilingual feminist reggaeton band Niña. Embracing the visual language of reggaeton, advertising, celebrity, and mass media, the performance creates a space for queer joy, cultural resistance, and collectivity. Opening the evening, Poncili Creación bring their exuberant larger-than-life foam puppet performance into Niñalandia, before reappearing throughout Liz and Bow's live performance and Midnight Moment. Together with LIZN'BOW's monumental inflatables, moving image, music, and performance, these encounters extend Niñalandia into the streets of Times Square, blurring the boundaries between fantasy and everyday public life.

This multi-part project immerses one of the world’s most recognizable spaces in a vibrant ecosystem where the boundaries between the digital and physical, artist and audience, and performance and everyday life begin to dissolve. 

This live performance is presented with support from Creative Capital Foundation and funding in part by the New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Theater Project, with lead funding from The Mellon Foundation and additional support from the Doris Duke Foundation.

El 23 de septiembre, LIZN'BOW estrenará una nueva presentación en vivo bajo el nombre de Niña, su banda bilingüe de reguetón feminista. Inspirada en el lenguaje visual del reguetón, la publicidad, la fama y los medios masivos de comunicación, la presentación creará un espacio para la alegría queer, la resistencia cultural y el sentido de comunidad. Al inicio de la velada, Poncili Creación presentará su exuberante espectáculo de marionetas de espuma gigantes en Niñalandia, para luego reaparecer en distintos momentos de la presentación en vivo y del Midnight Moment de Liz y Bow. Junto con los inflables monumentales de LIZN'BOW, las imágenes en movimiento, la música y las actuaciones, estos encuentros llevarán a Niñalandia a las calles de Times Square y desdibujarán los límites entre la fantasía y la vida pública cotidiana.

Este proyecto multidisciplinario sumerge a uno de los espacios más reconocibles del mundo en un ecosistema vibrante, donde los límites entre lo digital y lo físico, entre el artista y el público, y entre la presentación y la vida cotidiana comienzan a tornarse difusos.
