The not-for-profit organization, dedicated to entertaining, enriching, and expanding a global community for jazz through performance, education, and advocacy, will take over Times Square to bring New York City’s jazz scene to Broadway. JALC will infuse the area with good vibrations, featuring some of the most talented emerging artists amidst the hustle and bustle of Times Square.
riginally from Kyoto, Japan, the Grammy-nominated pianist Miki Hayama won the first prize in the Yokohama Jazz Competition in 1996. She came to the vibrant jazz scene in New York in 2003 and has performed / recorded with a lineup of jazz legeds such as Kenny
Garrett, Ralph Peterson, Sean Jones, Tia Fuller, and even the queen of soul, Aretha Franklin to name a few. Beyond her jazz career, she enriches her musical versatility by playing Hammond organ at the Greater Cathedral United Apostolic Ministries in the Bronx.
Your wishes will be added to the confetti that flutters down in the heart of Times Square on New Year's Eve! Each year, people from around the planet include their wishes for the new year on pieces of official Times Square New Year's Eve confetti, either digitally or in person.
