Artist duo LIZN'BOW presents El Mundo es Niña, which transforms Times Square into a portal to Niñalandia, the duo's fictional alternative reality centered on radical joy and connection. Rather than envisioning a future defined by collapse, LIZN'BOW imagines a vibrant, playful "pro-pocalyptic" world of bright hues and surreal imagery. Building on their ever-expanding fictional universe rooted in queer and Latinx futurisms, the work converges the digital and physical realms, drawing on pop culture references, humor, nostalgia, and the duo's personal memories.
Against a magenta sky and a neon green island made of money, Liz's abuela glides across the sky on a flying bike, a dancing unicorn cow rides a jet ski, and other fantastical creatures gather to celebrate Niñalandia. As communities face an increasingly precarious future marked by climate change and technological transformation, El Mundo es Niña proposes fantasy as a tool for reimagining an inclusive future built on kinship, mutual care, and creative resilience.

LIZN'BOW (Liz Ferrer & Bow Ty Enterprises Venture Capital) are an interdisciplinary artist duo whose collaborative practice merges performance, installation, music, fashion, and technology to create immersive works within their expanding Niñalandia universe, a pro-pocalyptic future where climate change, rising waters, and technological transformation become conditions for adaptation, collective joy, and new ways of living together. LIZN’BOW construct speculative environments that blur the line between fantasy and reality, spaces where cultural icons, pop media, and personal mythologies become one. Their practice centers Niña, their femme reggaeton band, as protagonists in their universe. Through a queer and comedic lens, their work transforms the language of American and Latin pop into sites of humor, resistance, and reinvention.
Their Times Square Arts project is followed by a residency at Shandaken Project at Storm King Art Center.
